Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is not included in your tour cost and is the choice/responsibility of each participant to purchase separately. Insurance is highly recommended (but not mandatory) to cover certain unexpected circumstances and/or losses. You can purchase travel insurance from any other company of your choice. Here are some companies to consider and compare:
- Faye (benefits Scopia LLC)
- Travel Guard (benefits Scopia LLC)
- Travel Insured
- Allianz
Notes on Travel Insurance:
- Please keep in mind that Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans do not cover medical expenses outside the US (be sure to check with your insurance provider).
- There may be benefits to purchasing a travel insurance policy within 14 days of making the initial payment on the tour (such as a deposit). These benefits may include waiver of pre-existing medical conditions exclusion and optional add-ons, such as canceling for any reason.
- Call the insurance company and ask if it is possible to initially insure only the deposits and then add coverage/premium when you purchase domestic airline tickets and/or when final payment is made on the tour.
- Scopia LLC cannot advise you about which policy to purchase or optional coverages, nor can it answer questions. Please contact the insurance company directly.
- Scopia LLC serves only as an agent of the insurance company(ies) for the purpose of offering participants the option of purchasing insurance. Any decisions about claims are at the sole discretion of the insurance company. Scopia LLC can provide participants with available documentation to support a claim.
- Insurance costs may not be reimbursed by the travel insurance company in case of cancellation of the tour or in case of filing a claim. It is best to consider the travel insurance policy to be non-refundable. Scopia LLC is not responsible nor liable for any claims or other decisions by the insurance company.
Required Disclosure:
Offered travel insurance plans provide insurance coverage that only applies during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home, and automobile insurance policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer or insurance agent or broker.
